The doctrine of salvation, as taught in the Bible, is in three tenses: past, present, and future. Past: we are delivered from sin’s penalty, namely, justification. Present: we are delivered from sin’s power, namely, sanctification. Future: we will be delivered from sin’s presence, namely, glorification.
